Car sales in France fell 5.8% year-on-year
Bayanalysis - CCFA - the French Car Manufacturers ’Committee issued a statement of new car registrations in France last January, as new car registrations decreased by 5.8 per cent on an annual basis, to reach 126,381 units in January 2021, compared to 134,229 units in January 2020, a difference of 7,848 units.
While new cars recorded during December 2020, a decline of 11.8 percent, as the high cases of Covid 19, or what is known as the new Corona, and the new restrictive measures across the country affected the domestic demand for cars in France.
The cases of Corona patients in the world increased to more than 100 million cases in less than a year, after which the number of cases began to be counted, while the number of deaths exceeded two million deaths, during the same period.
New car sales in France witnessed a sharp decline during 2020, which reached its peak last April, when new orders recorded about 62,668 units, which is equivalent to about a quarter of what it recorded during the same month of 2019, which reached 225,818 units at the time.
