Car sales in South Africa are down 13.9% year-on-year

- Total car sales in South Africa decreased by 13.9 percent year-on-year, to record 34,784 car sales in January, compared to 40,234 units, a difference of 3,000 units in January, according to the Association of Auto Dealers in South Africa.
Like many countries around the world, South Africa recorded a sharp decline in car sales during the month of April, making it the lowest month in the history of South Africa in terms of car orders, with sales only 574 units.
In December 2020, the country recorded sales of 37,493, bringing the rate of monthly decline to 7.2%.
South Africa is considered a pioneer in the field of cars in the African continent, being the first in terms of industry, production and sales in the continent during the past years.
